“Jobinianas” is a collection of songs inspired by Antonio Carlos Jobim - widely known as
“the father of bossa nova” and one of the greatest proponents of Brazilian music. The
album was recently produced, arranged and written by Mario Costa and recorded in Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil.
Costa had the pleasure of working on this project with some of Brazil's most talented
musicians including drummer Pedro Mamede, Bruno Milgliari on acoustic bass, pianist
Fernando Moura, and guitarist Ricardo Silveira.
Drums: Pedro Mamede has played with bossa nova and samba greats, Roberto Menescal, Elza
Soares, Jorge Aragao and Carlinhos Brown, among others.
Acoustic Upright Bass: Bruno Milgliari is a renowned acoustic and electric player who is
currently the bass player for Simone, Roberto Frejat and Lobao.
Piano: Fernando Moura is an accomplished pianist who has worked with Marisa Monte,
Moraes Moreira, George Martin, Steve Hackett, Francis Hime and many others.
Acoustic guitar: Ricardo Silveira may be the most well known recording guitarist in
Brazil at the moment. In a career that spans for decades he lent his talents to Elis
Regina, Gilberto Gil, Matt Bianco, Hubert Laws, Joao Bosco, Milton Nascimento, Hermeto
Paschoal and many others.
