“Los Cholos” is a group of four musicians
seers who approach popular art with the respect it deserves.
They dedicate their talent, their ability to search, their commitment and, sharpening
hearing and understanding, go in search of Peru, its peoples, its
feelings: of his musical soul.
This beautiful and noble desire has led them to rescue valuable songs
written, sometimes by important poets, as is the case with “Sed”,
heartfelt song written by César “Atahualpa” Rodríguez and musicalized
his brother, Félix Rodríguez Olcay, or waltzes by our Manuel Acosta
Ojeda, and others. But his massive repertoire are popular creations,
the majority anonymous revived by “Los Cholos”, with their voices, a
guitar, a charango, wind instruments ranging from the quena and the
zampoña to the Cajamarca bugle or to the waqrapuku from Huancavelica, Ayacucho
and Apurímac, in addition to percussion according to the music they perform.
